Kitchen

Overview

The Kitchen is overseen by the Chef and the Kitchen Assistants. They are responsible for the preparation of all meals within the care home, and ensuring that all residents receive a balanced diet.

Qualifications

Chef

To be a Chef you require the following qualifications and knowledge:

  • a Food Hygiene certificate
  • food preparations skills
  • knowledge/experience of catering for specialist diets
  • menu planning, stock control and budgetary experience.

You will be required to pass a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check prior to employment.

Kitchen Assistant

To be a Kitchen Assistant you require the following qualifications and knowledge:

  • a Food Hygiene certificate
  • basic food preparations skills

You will be required to pass a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check prior to employment.
