What is included?

Your weekly fee is inclusive of in-house nursing care and activities, room, meals and cleaning and laundry.

What costs extra?

There are some items that your weekly fee does not cover.

Many NHS services have significant waiting times. We can assist in arranging private healthcare treatments, but these costs will cost extra.

Long-term Care

When your placement has been confirmed we will arrange a meeting between you and/or your representative and a member of our finance team where they will explain in detail how to pay your fees.

Fees are to be paid 2 weeks in advance by weekly standing order. Once your placement has been agreed we will issue you with a standing order mandate for the agreed room rate.

If you have applied for council funding we will invoice you at the full room rate until we have received notification from the council about their contribution.

Respite Care

If your respite care has been arranged through your local council you will be expected to pay the standard weekly respite rate to us on admission for the duration of your stay.

If you have privately arranged a respite stay you will be expected to pay the full weekly rate for the duration of your stay on admission.

Especially when you first arrive in the Home, there may be issues you are unsure about. It is very important that you and your family keep an open dialogue with staff to ensure minor issues do not become major ones.

The first 4/6 weeks is a trial period. If you decide that you are not happy with the Home, and we are unable to resolve your difficulties, you have the right to move on to another Home.

Personal Allowance (PA) is your own fund for any day-to-day items which are not included in the basic costs of care. We request that every resident have an amount of money in this fund to allow us to arrange for services, such as hairdressing. You will have full control over what you would like to spend your PA on.

Normally fees are reviewed each financial year, but they can also change depending on your own personal circumstances. If you are funded through the council you will be notified by them of the changes. We will contact you directly with updated invoicing arrangements.

If you are privately funding your care we will contact you directly with any fee changes. This is usually done annually before the start of the new financial year in April.

Before admission to Hogganfield Loch, an assessment would be undertaken by our care staff (your local Social Work Department may also perform an assessment). This would ensure the suitability of the placement.
